Summary/Objective
The Level III NDT inspector will safely and efficiently inspect finished goods, products, and materials in a timely and professional manner ensuring that our company’s quality standards exceed world class excellence.
Essential Functions
- Administer the NDT Inspector training and qualification program
- Responsible for management of the NDT Program through subordinates.
- Oversees and approves quality standards for structural and equipment receiving, in-process and final inspection in accordance with company and contractual requirements.
- Inspects and monitors work performed on government and commercial work items.
- Reviews work packages prior to start-work for completeness, accuracy and compliance with technical specifications and customer requirements for NDT requirements.
- Performs in-process work surveillances and conducts final work-package review after work-completion for NDT.
- Performs internal audits to monitor compliance with company procedures and performs external audits to evaluate supplier suitability for use.
- Reviews status of in-process rejections and recommends appropriate corrective action.
- Acts as a primary liaison with customers, vendors and various company departments for NDT Program support.
- Advises management of test trends, returns, vendor performance and audit results and corrective action needed.
- Responsible for the training, motivation and discipline of assigned employees.
- Monitors compliance with company Quality Management System, Workmanship standards and Customer requirements.
- Develops quality control and inspection procedures for inclusion in production Work-Packages.
- Defines test standards and specifies test equipment and procedures.
- Reviews Technical Specifications and contract requirements to help evaluate company capabilities and support the Bid review
- Provides Production technical guidance during accomplishment of projects.
- Conducts Quality Assurance inspections, Audit and Surveillances.
- Works with customer QA representatives to coordinate inspection and acceptance activities.
- Reviews QA control requirements with customer representative to assure compliance with requirements.
- Reviews contractually required documentation for accuracy and completeness
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Must have a minimum of 5 years documented work experience as a NAS410 Certified Level 3 in aerospace NDT
- Must have current ASNT NDT Level III PT Certification.
- Experience with Nadcap, ISO, and AS standards, preferred
- Knowledge of aerospace quality standards, preferred
- Knowledge of root cause analysis tools and/or equivalent quality training.
- Must be certifiable to NDT level III in Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection methods.
- Ability to process and communicate information using Microsoft Office software
- Ability to lead teams or projects achieving desired results on schedule
- Demonstrated oral and written communication skills in English required
Competencies
- Prior experience as an auditor, preferred
- Must be detail oriented and possess technical manufacturing capabilities/knowledge
- Some travel required domestic and internationally Some domestic and international travel may be required.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, or equivalent software. Must be computer literate.
- Open communication style and proven ability to develop team relations
- Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently with little supervision.
- Must be currently eligible/authorized to work in the United States.Supervisory Responsibility
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk hear. This position is very active and requires standing, sitting, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
