Job Description

Job Summary: Responsible for all aspects of court mandated reporting, maintaining court calendar and performing various paralegal responsibilities and duties for the Community Guardian Program department.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Oversees process of new client procedures ensuring that all steps are handled properly

2. Oversees updating and maintenance of bond information, orders and cancels bonds

3. Coordinates work flow for initial and final accounts. Ensures reports are filed timely.

4. Coordinates and monitors work flow for Annual accounts in conjunction with Program Statistician and Fiscal Manager

5. Handles routine correspondence with court examiners including the response to testimonies

6. Coordinates and troubleshoots client discharge process

7. Maintains court calendar for the department. Monitors assignments of cases to attorneys.

8. Notifies responsible parties prior to court dates

9. Obtains commissions and court certification of documents as needed

10. Orders or obtains client death certificates, prepares Notices of Death for Public Administrators

11. Oversee filing of clients wills with the Surrogate Court.

12. Oversees completion of testimonies

13. Oversees filing of client wills with the Surrogate Court.



Knowledge, Skills And Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Paralegal experience or training preferred.
  • Must be able to write clearly and concisely and communicate with attorneys, attend Court hearings, and manage legal filings with government agencies.
