Legal Program Assistant (Temporary 1 year position)
***TEMPORARY POSITION: In recognition of the increased need for family law and domestic violence protection orders among domestic violence survivors in Clark County (specifically as a result of COVID-19), this position has been made possible through limited grant funding. The term of employment will be 1 year (12 months) from date of hire. It is not expected to be renewed.***

Legal Program Assistant (Temporary Position: 1 year only)
Location: Vancouver, WA
Shift: Day with infrequent nights and weekends
FTE: 0.75 (30 hours/week) Hourly
Compensation: $16.00-$18.00/hr
Benefits: We currently do not offer health or retirement benefits. We do offer competitive PTO and a flexible schedule.
Key Responsibilities: The primary responsibility of the Program Assistant is to assist the Survivor Support attorney in the day-to-day workflow and delivery of pro bono legal services to low-income individuals in Clark County in accordance with CCVLP’s mission. The Program Assistant will work closely with clients be supervised by the Program Director.
Primary duties of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Administering advice clinics
- Data entry to track client outcomes and services provided
- Ensuring that confidential client files and records are appropriately maintained
- Managing phones (incoming and outgoing calls, voicemail)
- Processing client referrals
- Scheduling clients as directed by the Survivor Support attorney.
- Scheduling volunteers (in support of the Family Law Program Coordinator)
- Assisting Family Law Program Coordinator with miscellaneous duties as necessary and as directed
Necessary Qualifications
Successful candidates will:
- Bilingual in English/Spanish (spoken and written)
- Be able to maintain client privacy and confidentiality
- Have strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Be able to manage time and prioritize tasks
- Have a minimum of 1 year full time experience facilitating access to social services to clients
- Have a strong attention to detail
- Have the ability to problem solve independently and collaboratively
- Be highly proficient in the use of computers and office equipment. This includes comfort with the Microsoft and Adobe suites, web browser-based applications and G suite applications (Gmail, Calendar, Drive, etc.)
- Have a strong web search engine(s) skill set

Currently, all services through our organization are virtual. Staff work remotely and client consults are held via phone or Zoom. A "Safe Work" plan is in place, and when staff and clients make use the physical office space, CDC guidelines are followed.
