Legal Corporate Specialist - Paralegal
The position requires the individual to (1) perform complex paralegal assignments supporting the attorneys in the Office of General Counsel (OGC), primarily those in the Corporate Group and particularly those in the Corporate Group's Government & Public Services (GPS), Federal team, and (2) apply leadership, management, and administrative skills to help drive important OGC projects relating to internal process improvement, administration, and knowledge management.

The position requires the individual to (1) perform complex paralegal assignments supporting the attorneys in the Office of General Counsel (OGC), primarily those in the Corporate Group and particularly those in the Corporate Group's Government & Public Services (GPS), Federal team, and (2) apply leadership, management, and administrative skills to help drive important OGC projects relating to internal process improvement, administration, and knowledge management.
Work You'll Do:
- Reviews requests for proposals (RFPs), confidentiality agreements, teaming agreements, and various other documents (e.g., forms and certificates), under supervision of an attorney, as needed.
- Reviews contractual terms included in requests for proposals and prepares exceptions to such proposed terms for review by an attorney, as needed.
- Advises senior practitioners and risk managers of the Deloitte US Firms on contract-related issues.
- Assists attorneys in reviewing various agreements with clients, subcontractors, vendors and third parties.
- Leads, and assists in leading, important internal projects relating to internal process improvement and knowledge management.
- Drafts documents and correspondence.
- Assists attorneys with diligence activities and performs legal research utilizing legal reference publications, computer databases and other tools.
- Performs other functions such as contract and RFP summarizing, proofreading, redlining, and organizing and maintaining reference materials and databases.
- Familiarity with professional service agreements, particularly agreements with the U.S. Government, is a plus.
- Supports important GPS, Federal practice related matters and compliance program functions, such as analyzing and coordinating response to Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree
- 3+ years of paralegal or similar experience
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or in the future.
Preferred:
- Paralegal certificate preferred
- Individual should be able to operate at a high level with minimum supervision, make decisions in accordance with applicable policies, procedures and guidelines of the Deloitte US Firms and must be able to discern when attorney or supervisor involvement is necessary.
- Individual should have excellent management, organizational, and administrative skills (including project management), preferably in a legal department or similar environment.
- Individual must be a self-starter with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work on multiple projects at the same time, prioritize matters, proactively anticipate the needs of senior stakeholders, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Individual should have strong written and verbal communication skills, and a keen attention to detail.
- Individual should be proficient in Microsoft Office applications (including Word, PowerPoint, Excel), and should demonstrate familiarity with, or an aptitude for, document management software, electronic research platforms, and other software programs.
