Job Summary

Leasing Associate, to join our team and will primarily be responsible for processing and maintain applicant files.

Essential Duties and responsibilities

  • Renting apartments, administrative functions and providing outstanding service to prospect residents and third -party agencies.
  • Facilitates all aspects of the apartment leasing process, qualifying prospective residents and signing leases
  • Request & review initial verifications of applicants income/ assets/ housing from applicant and 3rd party.
  • Perform credit/ criminal background screening
  • Complete subsidy packages (Section 8, LINC, FHEPS, SEPS, etc
  • Assist with processing annual recertification.
  • DHCR Rent Registration
  • Rent Stabilization
  • Knowledge of all affordable programs: LIHTC, HOME, Section 8, etc.
  • Preparing and sending out lease renewals
  • Remain current with all Agency required compliance documents and trainings.
  • Other tasks and special projects as required by management.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in a leasing, finance, or bookkeeping position with a real estate company or related field
  • Knowledge of NYC rent regulations and affordable housing programs
  • High school diploma or GED required (Bachelor’s degree preferred)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (expert with excel functions preferred)
  • Proficient with property management software (Yardi experience preferred) or ability to learn new software quickly
  • 2+ years of experience in LIHTC and/or Section 8 housing programs
  • Ability to multi-task and complete multiple projects with different deadlines
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely
  • Strong attention to detail and follow through
  • Bi-lingual English and Spanish preferred, but not required
