Salary Range: $240/week

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Lead Program Coordinator is part of the summer leadership staff and responsible for overseeing most of our specialty programs at Camp Erdman. This includes a heightening focus on Battle Challenge and Evening Le’ale’a, but also includes other programs at Camp Erdman. Further, all leadership staff have a hand in creating and implementing daily programming, providing daily leadership, and will ultimately supervise all counselors. Leadership staff are typically experienced camp workers and understand the long list of needs that a summer camp needs. Leadership staff provide guidance, advice and leadership to their staff and ensure their staff gets adequate time off. The leadership team works closely with the Summer Camp Director, Assistant Summer Camp Director, and Day Camp Director.
KNOW-HOW:
The Unit Leader must have a thorough understanding of the YMCA’s mission and goals, and a desire to work with children between the ages of 7 and 17. Leadership skills, enthusiasm, patience, a sense of humor and self-control are all essential. The Unit Leader should have experience in leading and motivating staff.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Two years of college education preferred
- Experience working with children
- Prior summer camp experience preferred
- Prior experience leading peers preferred
- CPR/AED & First Aid required
- TB test required
- Ability to be physically active all day
