LEAD HARVEST TECHNICIAN

General Summary

The Harvest Lead is very experienced with processing cannabis flowers while maintaining a high-quality standard of work. The Lead will oversee and aid the harvest technicians who are expected to maintain flower integrity by proper handling of plants while de-leafing duties. The Harvest Lead will have to monitor daily goals and objectives, and is expected to meet defined quotas. The Lead will be required to work with various equipment pertaining to harvest duties in a warehouse setting.

• Oversee and assists harvest techs in cutting down of individual plants in 2 minutes and 30 seconds
• Able to gently handle plants to avoid the accumulation of hash
• Direct and supports the de-leaf of each plant in 3 minutes or less
• Monitor Harvest Techs to ensure they are able to meet quote of 12-15 plants per hour
• Work well with harvest team to achieve departmental daily goals
• Able to take directive from harvest supervisor and management and be expected to effectively pass directives down to harvest techs
• Be mindful of sensitive irrigation systems and rolling tables
• Expected to maintain cleanliness through processes and collect plant waste for weighing
• Follow strict biosecurity protocols, maintain sanitation of tools and person
• Establishes work procedures and processes that support the company and departmental standards, procedures and strategic directives
• Uses appropriate judgment in upward communication regarding department or employee concerns

Employee Conduct

This position has some supervisory responsibilities. The Harvest Lead will oversee the performance, progress and productivity of the harvest technicians.

Physical Requirements

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

• Continually able to reach overhead, bend, squat, kneel, and carry product
• The job requires the employee to work with cannabis which is a plant that contains certain allergens that can cause an allergic reaction in persons who are sensitive to the plant matter
• Ability to carry boxes, products, and other necessary store related items
• Ability to regularly perform store maintenance items: sweep, mop, vacuum, empty trash, and maintain all areas of business relating to the Harvest Department
• Ability to safely lift boxes up to 35 lbs
• Comfortable climbing ladders

Expected hours of work

• This is a full-time position

• Weekend and holidays are expected to be worked
• Schedules are subject to change
