The Air Force’s Nuclear Enterprise work program has a new opportunity for a strong technical candidate with a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) degree to join an innovative team of engineers focused on ensuring resilient and secure solutions for sponsor or customer needs and developing security capabilities for a safer world. We are seeking strong technical candidates with a cybersecurity background to join a research and development team focused on building security into large engineering projects and acquisition efforts. The candidate for this position will work a wide variety of challenging systems resiliency, security, and cybersecurity activities in direct support of modernizing the Nuclear Enterprise. The selected candidate will contribute to advancing and providing cutting edge systems security and resiliency engineering services for an Air Force Weapons System Program Office at Eglin Air Force Base, FL.
Responsibilities include:
- Interface directly with the Sponsor at Eglin Air Force Base, FL.
- Analyze missions and systems for potential attack vectors, loss conditions and unacceptable loss consequences and propose mitigation approaches
- Provide recommendations on ensuring systems are specified, designed, developed, implemented, integrated, and sustained to meet security needs, goals and objectives
- Research and develop unique, cutting-edge technical capabilities and processes for understanding, assessing, and analyzing system and technology resilience and security
- Assist in systems security analysis and assessments, including identifying risk criticalities and handling options, to inform decision making
- Assist in development of systems security and cybersecurity strategy development, system testing and evaluation, and verification and validation efforts
- Analyze system requirements, software, hardware, supply chain, and integration approaches using analysis tools to identify vulnerabilities and system architecture, design, and implementation flaws
- Develop system security engineering attributes within complex model-based system engineering products in direct support of programs
- Utilize Model Based System Engineering tools to develop and assess the government reference architecture and contractor architectures
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) related field or equivalent
- 8 years experience designing, developing and implementing resilient cyber security systems (i.e. cyber security professional or system security engineer)
- Applicants selected for this position will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information or applicants who are eligible for security clearances.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience with cybersecurity assessments
- Experience with vulnerability management
- Familiarity with compliance assessments
- Familiarity with vulnerability assessment test tools
- Possess and maintain a Secret level security clearance
- Obtain and maintain a Top Secret level security clearance including SAP access
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in a STEM related field
- Understanding of NIST SP 800-160 systems security engineering considerations for systems engineering
- Understanding of INCOSE defined 30 lifecycle systems engineering processes
- Experience with Systems Theoretic Process Analysis (STPA) or similar process
- Experience in the use of software analysis tools such as Klocwork, Fortify, and similar
- Experience with network forensics
