A Lead Sterile Processing Technician leads the team and works alongside central processing technician in performance of all duties related to sterilization.

Responsibilities:

Under the general supervision of Surgery Department Manager coordinates assignments for Sterile Processing. Leads the team and works alongside central processing technicians in performance of all duties related to sterilization records; the set up, delivery, pick-up, decontamination and maintenance of medical equipment, procedural trays and carts; sterilization of supplies and instruments; folding and assembling linen packs. Is responsible for counting and restocking of par levels and nurse servers, filing and delivering of supply orders; maintenance of equipment records and billing. Prepares work schedules, assignments, and assists in training of new employees. Responsible for reporting any issues to Manager, Director or supervisor on duty.

Qualifications



  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Certification in Sterile Processing preferred
  • Minimum of two years as a technician. Previous lead or supervisor experience preferred. Specific knowledge related to medical supplies, medical equipment, surgical instruments, and sterile/aseptic technique is required. Must possess good interpersonal, problem solving and team building skills.
