Job Description

DePuy Synthes, a member of the Johnson & Johnson Family of Companies, is recruiting a Lead Analyst, Med Tech Royalties that will be located in West Chester, PA with consideration gives to other J&J sites in Raynham, MA and Warsaw, IN.


DePuy Synthes and CSS and will be expanding to support Ethicon. This role will strategically lead an organization of 3 analysts as well as be responsible for all aspects of Royalty payments for the MedTech Sector. In addition, the candidate will learn business aspects of Medical Device with a particular focus on DePuy Synthes while gaining exposure to senior finance leaders. There will be opportunities for leadership of strategic projects in the Global Franchise space outside of Royalties.


Royalties are an important aspect of the MedTech P&L with an annual impact of ~$200MM. A successful candidate in this role will gain independent leadership experience, develop experience in the MedTech sector, and demonstrate critical financial competencies in compliance and risk management. They will also show their ability to think critically about organizational structure while proactively looking for improvement opportunities.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leadership of the Royalty CoE, including 3 Royalty Coordinators
  • Development and oversight of financial compliance and processes for royalties, ensuring payments are accurately and timely
  • Lead business case analysis of potential royalty buyouts that drive value for J&J
  • Strategic leadership of the Royalty CoE with an eye on continuously improving of structures and processes

Qualifications
  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree is required
  • A minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience is required
  • Experience in Medical Device, Pharmaceutical, Consumer goods or Public Accounting is preferred.
  • The ability to be a self-starter and strategic problem solver with proven abilities to implement strategies based on competitive dynamics, economic goals, and customer needs is required.
  • The ability to utilize detailed financial analyses and high-level pattern recognition to drive performance is required.
  • The ability to work well in a cross-functional environment and build support across all levels of the organization is required.
  • The ability to drive rapid, but fact-based decision-making with imperfect data is required.
  • Intermediate to Advanced MS Excel skills are required. (i.e. Pivot Tables, Formulas, & VLOOKUP functions)
  • Experience with TM1 and SAP is preferred.
  • May require up to 25% travel
