Laundry Worker

DUTY STATEMENT CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF VETERANS AFFAIRS

Operate washers, dryers, extractors, tumblers, sterilizers, and ironers; prepare soap, starch, bleaching and other washing solutions. Receive and sort resident clothing. Distribute clean laundry to all areas of facility including to the Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF), Residential Care Facility for the Elderly (RCFE) daily as required. Inventory and monitor stored state linen in clean linen rooms and other areas. Assist other laundry personnel with the operation and maintenance of the main facility laundry room and member laundry rooms. Maintain and organize work areas, report all safety, sanitation, OSHA, CFR Title 22, and CFR Title 8 deficiencies. Complete related documentation relevant to laundry operations. Clean work areas and maintains safety and sanitation standards. Prepare reports, order supplies and repair parts, assist in other related areas, attend in-service training, on-the-job and other related training. Maintain safety consciousness and awareness.

• 8 hour shift

Experience:

• operation of commercial washers & other washroom equipment: 2 years (Required)

License/Certification:

• Driver's License (Required)
