Laserbond Technician IV - Day Shift

Medtronic Tempe Campus, located in Tempe, Arizona, is looking for a Technician IV to support Laserbond Process Engineering.

A Day in the Life

In this position, you will support shift sustaining process engineering in a 24X7 manufacturing operation that uses industrial lasers to bond microelectronic devices. This is a day shift position on a compressed work week schedule from 5:30 AM to 5:30 PM.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Sustaining, characterizing, and qualifying laserbond processes/equipment. (Must have demonstrable skills and knowledge of industrial lasers, best practices for cleaning and handling optics, programming motion control hardware and statistical process control.)
• Troubleshooting and resolving laserbond equipment/process issues
• Performing fixture preventive and corrective maintenance
• Performing equipment qualification (installation/qualification), gage R&R studies and documentation updates
• Meeting operational attainment of Safety, Quality, and Service goals.
• Performing duties in compliance with environmental, health and safety related site rules, policies, or governmental regulations.
• Identifying and work to removing barriers that slow or prevent the successful completion of projects.

Must Have – Minimum Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience and may require vocational or technical education and advanced certification in addition to prior work experience

Nice to Have

• Associate of Science Degree in a related discipline or Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Material Science, or similar technical discipline
• Medical Device Quality Systems knowledge and experience
• Direct manufacturing experience with laserbond equipment, microelectromechanical systems, or similar work experience
• Direct experience qualifying and sustaining laserbond process technologies, with relevant experience with process characterization, design of experiments, equipment qualification, statistical process control, and data analysis methodologies
• Strong verbal and written communications skills
• Demonstrated experience working in a highly cross-linked technical work environment.
