ATHENA Consulting is an award-winning staffing firm serving state and local governments. We are currently recruiting for a landscaper/groundskeeper for one our clients in St. Augustine, FL.

Summary

• Operate powered equipment such as mowers, tractors, twin-axle vehicles, chain-saws, electric clippers, sod cutters, and pruning saws; mow and edge lawns, using power mowers and edger.
• Care for established lawns by seeding, fertilizing, mulching, aerating, weeding, grubbing and removing thatch, and trimming and edging around flower beds, walks, and walls.
• Use hand tools such as shovels, rakes, pruning saws, saws, hedge and brush trimmers, and axes.
• Digs holes for plants, mixes fertilizer or lime with dirt; hauls & spreads topsoil, straw and mulch; decorates garden; Applies herbicides, fungicides, and pesticides using spreaders or spray equipment.
• Prune and trim trees, shrubs, and hedges, using shears, pruners, or chain saws.
• Gather and remove litter.
• Maintain and repair tools, equipment, and structures such as buildings, greenhouses, fences, and benches, using hand and power tools.
• Builds forms, mixes and pours concrete to form garden borders.
• Provide proper upkeep of sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, fountains, planters, burial sites, and other grounds features.
• Perform related work as required or assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• High school diploma or GED
