Skills we're seeking:

  • Use hand equipment with mechanized moving blades such as gas powered shears
  • Use manual hand tools such as shovels
  • Periodically operate heavy equipment, including skidsteer, excavator, and loader as directed by supervisor.
  • Work from elevated heights such as an 8 A-frame ladder
  • Use a hand shovel for extended period
  • Moves soil, equipment, and materials, digs holes, and plant trees, shrubs and flowers.
  • Trims and picks flowers and cleans flower beds.

· Digs holes for plants, mixes fertilizer or lime with dirt in holes, inserts plants, and fills holes with dirt.

· Perform preventative maintenance on tools and equipment by conducting inspections, lubricating, and cleaning on a daily basis

· Hauls or spreads topsoil, and spreads straw over seeded soil to hold soil in place.

· Waters lawns, trees, and plants, using portable sprinkler system, hose, or watering can.

· Applies herbicides, fungicides, fertilizers, and pesticides, using spreaders or spray equipment

· 6 months commercial landscape experience preferred but not required

  • Work near or about natural bodies of water
  • Work 8+ hours per day with applicable breaks x 5 days/week (weekend work required)
  • Ability to work in extreme conditions temperatures may exceed 100 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Ability to work in direct sunlight for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift and carry 40 lbs. (mulch, fertilizer, etc.)
  • Ability to load/unload burlaps with plant cuttings onto trailer (up to 50 lbs.)
  • Ability to bend, stoop and twist continuously throughout the day

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 22 years of age for insurance purposes.
  • Must have a valid driver's license with no serious traffic infractions on record
  • Must be able to work flexible hours
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to walk for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to work in all weather conditions
  • Must pass background check.
  • Must pass drug screen (including Marijuana for insurance purposes)
  • Hard work is recognized and rewarded.

Availability to Work: Special shift requirements, if any, will vary depending on a location's hiring needs. The availability to work on weekends is a requirement.
