Laboratory Service Assistant

Genesis Reference Laboratories is currently seeking a Specimen Collector (Lab Data Entry) in Aurora, CO.

This is a part-time hourly position working from Monday to Friday from 2:00 PM-6:00 PM.

Previous medical or laboratory experience would be preferred.

Data entry skills and basic computer knowledge will be required. Candidate must have the ability to type between 35 – 40 wpm. Previous experience in a production environment or previous specimen handling experience would be helpful.

Responsibilities:

Prepares laboratory specimens (Urine, Stool, Oral and Nasal Swabs) for designated departments prior to laboratory analysis and testing.

Prepare specimens prior to shipping out.

Organize route specimens by priority and type to various staging areas.

Input data of each specimens and prepares all specimens for testing in designated laboratory locations.

Document and inform supervisors in regard to specimen problems and steps to resolve the issue.

Fulfill clinic’s supply requests within a timely manner.

Physical Demands:

Speech clarity, utilization of fingers and hands, sitting-remaining in the normal seated position, handling-seizing, holding, grasping, and moderate physical effort (up to 20 pounds).

Requirements:
Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent w/1-2 years of experiences

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
