BIOQUAL INC is looking for dedicated Laboratory Animal Technicians. If you are interested in this field and willing to train please review the information below:

BIOQUAL INC is a medical research facility with five locations. We perform contract research services focused on in vivo models of human diseases. BIOQUAL’s laboratories are actively involved in the evaluation of vaccines, vaccine therapeutics, microbicides, and drug therapies. In vitro services are available for evaluation of immunologic, virologic, and molecular parameters. These services include sample processing, virus stock generation, quantitation of infectious virus, virus neutralization assays, hemagglutination inhibition assay, quantitative PCR, antigen and antibody ELISA detection assays, flow cytometry, lymphocyte proliferation, and other cell-based assays.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with necropsy procedures including tissue collection
  • Collects, verifies, and correlates facility records and makes timely reports to the supervisor
  • Collects blood, tissue and various fluid samples
  • Performs various IV, SC, intranasal and intramuscular injections
  • Read and understand standard operating procedures (SOP’s) for animal facilities
  • Perform routine inoculations
  • Assist in the processing and shipment of serum/tissue samples
  • Attend seminars and training

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Considerable knowledge of the care and handling of laboratory animals
  • Knowledge of the biology and physical characteristics of animals used in research.
  • Knowledge regarding the methods and materials used in laboratory work
  • Able to work and communicate professionally with investigators, supervisors and caretakers
  • Able to make accurate observations, keep current, accurate, and complete records
  • Able to read, understand, and interpret written and oral instruction and perform math calculations in conduct of experimental procedures
  • BS in Biology, Animal Science or a related field; or completion of college level Laboratory Animal Technician program; or at least a high school diploma, ALAT, LAT or LAT’G certification from AALAS and at least 1 additional year of experience in biomedical research * 3+ years of experience

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $23.90 per hour

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Overtime
  • Weekend availability

Supplemental Pay:
