Job Description
Location: 32100 Stephenson Hwy., Madison Heights, MI 48071
Position Type: contract( 9 months) with possible extension
Pay rate $24/hr on w2
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in chemistry, food safety, toxicology, industrial hygiene or other related scientific discipline.
- Familiarity with Industrial and Consumer regulations (OSHA / WHMIS, EPA / CEPA, CPSC / CCCR, and VOC).
- Minimum of one to three year's experience in the chemical industry.
- Experience with the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
- Experience and knowledge of Globally Harmonized System (GHS)
- Ability to manage an active group independently with strong leadership skills and effective communication skills.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with an ability to work effectively with others.
- Enthusiastic and self-motivated.
- Travel requirement ~ 20% max anticipated
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for full interpretation hazard communication of all existing products, raw materials and chemicals.
- Responsible for identification, determination of applicability and timely communication of potential impact of new raw material on intermediates and finished products.
- Managing products subject to food / food-contact regulations.
- Experience in the area of chemical manufacturing and import requdirements as regualted by US EPA's Toxic Substance Control Act (TSCA).
- Responsible for implementation of Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS) and applicability to local country adoption of such as US (Haz Comm 2012) and Canada (WHMIS 2015)
- Preparation of Safety Data Sheets (SDS) in accordance to Haz Comm 2012 and WHMIS 2015.
- Preparation of labels in accordance to Haz Comm 2012 and WHMIS 2015.
- Manage all required test data needed to support North American Product Safety and Regulatory Affairs.
- Participate in Adhesive Development Process (ADP) meetings and provide necessary support towards completing the PSRA check list.
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of products, chemistries and processes.
- Work with manufacturing, product development (PD), adhesives research (AR) and Safety Health and Environment (SHE) team members as needed and help them on special regulatory issues that may have internal / external impact.
- Work closely with regulatory agencies, trade associations and other related regulatory bodies as needed to influence regulatory policies.
- Provide regulatory updates and responses to customers and distributors as needed.
- Participation with Governmental Agencies, Industry Trade Groups and other related organizations.

The job will be remote until returning to the office.
