Lab Technician

Sanders Companies has an opening for a Lab Technician in the Metallurgical Lab. The laboratory is a critical component to the organization, offering support to all of the company’s core processes. The laboratory technician ensures timely and accurate analysis through every part of the production process, from procurement to finished products. The analysis the laboratory technician provides allows Sanders Lead to offer the highest quality product to our customers.

DUTIES:

· Performs spectral analysis on production and furnace samples by arc spark spectroscopy

· Performs after casting analysis on production samples

· Performs lead sample prep, digestion, and analysis by ICP*

· Performs plastic sample prep, digestion, and analysis by ICP*

· Performs plastic sample recovery analysis

· Performs filter cake prep

· Performs slag prep and analysis*

· Performs TCLP analysis*

· Performs SO2 calibration*

· Performs waste water monitoring

*Not all technicians are trained for, this or part of this, function.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Must pass Homeland Security background check

· Must have High School Diploma or equivalent

· Must maintain an open line of communication with Supervisor and Coworkers

· Must thrive in a team environment and work well with others

· Must be in good standing with the company

· Must have excellent attendance

· Must be self-motivated

· Must be reliable

· Must possess leadership skills

· Must work some nights and some weekends

· Must have reliable transportation to work

· Must be detail oriented

· Must have basic math skills

· Must have basic computer skills

· Must be able to work alone

· Must be able to lift 65 pounds above waist one to two times per shift
