Lab Courier Driver - PRN (As Needed)

• Picks up patient specimens from UHHS client facilities and delivers to main laboratory.
• Delivers supplies to clients.
• Initiates and maintains positive relationships with patients/customers.
• Initiates and maintains positive relationships with co-workers.
• Takes responsibility for self-development and supports a learning environment.
• Displays commitment to the mission of the hospital and its values

Position Requirements:

• Experience as a courier/driver preferred
• Must possess a valid driver’s license which is not suspended or revoked
• Has no convictions of Impaired Driving (i.e. OVI or Reckless Operation)
• Proof of state minimum liability insurance coverage
• Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as exhibiting strong organizational skills and work ethic
• Demonstrates a professional demeanor when responding to patients/customers

Education Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience working as a lab/medical courier is strongly preferred. Schedule is on an “as needed” basis. Will be expected to cover shifts that could start at 4:00am and shifts that end at 11:30pm (not on the same day); any day of the week, including weekends and holidays. Hours per week could total close to 40.
