Company Sparus Holdings is a dynamic infrastructure and technology company with several lines of business that has tripled in size over the last six years via organic growth. This Private Equity sponsored Company is forecasting continued strong organic growth and is building a significant pipeline of acquisition opportunities. Our growth has necessitated the addition of a Staff Accountant in the Accounting Department to support an increasing level of activity required by this significant growth. Summary This new position will report to the Accounting Supervisor with exposure to the Assistant Controller, Controller and CFO. This individual will assist with payroll, billing, financial reporting, and special projects. Strong technology skills are preferred as this individual will interact with several automated applications and will be required to manipulate large amounts of data. The successful candidate will have great understanding of the concept of confidentiality since this individual will be involved in various aspects of employee compensation. The candidate will be experienced in entering data with attention to detail and will have good math skills to make the necessary calculations. The ideal candidate will be a thorough professional with good communication abilities. Major Tasks
NAFS- operating since 2012 with a reputation for quality, safety, and efficiency. Their union workforce will complement your projects large and small with all necessary positions. NAFs provide field services from leak survey, locate and mark, pipeline integrity, demand response, stray voltage, and many others.
The Spear Group- has serviced hundreds of leading companies in a variety of industries, including gas and electric utilities, architecture & engineering firms, construction, pharmaceuticals, and various other industrial organizations.

- Manage automated timekeeping applications
- Electronically move hours and expense reimbursements into automated payroll application
- Assist in the preparation of customer billings based on labor hours and units incurred
- Investigate and resolve any discrepancies in payroll and billing
- Calculate bonuses and commissions when appropriate
- Validate electronic payroll records by reviewing adjustments on pay rates, employee status changes, etc.
- Assist Accounting Team with month end closing processes
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts across multiple companies
- Salary is DOE
- 1-3 years of relevant experience
- Fluency with Excel formulas and functions
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required
- Good business acumen
- Attention to detail
- Thrives in a fast paced, growing environment with moderate supervision
- Strong work ethic and team-oriented approach
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics SL a plus
