Position Summary

Guardian’s Enterprise Business Technology Services uses technical analysts to bridge the gap between our business partners and our software developers and testers in the group insurance space. To achieve this outcome Guardian is seeking an individual with excellent communication skills, Agile story writing and interpretation skills, and technical skills in both database and distributed languages.
Our technical analyst is responsible for partnering with the team’s product owner and business stakeholders to ensure that efficient and feasible SAFe Agile stories are written for the developers and testers. Additionally, the technical analyst will facilitate the integration of newer systems with legacy systems and contribute to Guardian’s Group Platform Transformation initiative. The technical analyst will also work with the developers on the team to design, implement, and deliver well-engineered and tested code to Guardian’s production systems.
You Will
  • Receive training from senior technical analysts to prepare you to work independently with minimum supervision and help you develop unique insight into the analysis of customer business requirements.
  • Work with our software vendor to devise mapping for integration from legacy systems to new systems, identify gaps within joint requirements sessions, and guide them in the porting of products from legacy solutions to the new solution.
  • Perform analysis on the new system’s data and cleans/interprets/translates the data into our legacy systems.
  • Design new solutions by analyzing business requirements, constructing workflow charts and diagrams, studying system capabilities, and refining features and stories with technical information.
  • Engage in Proof of Concept, prototyping, and feasibility analysis to determine the best approach to requirements and problems.
  • Recommend improvements by studying current practices and proposing/designing modifications.
  • Recommend controls by identifying problems and writing technical solutions.
  • Attend and participate in all SAFe ceremonies for your development team, including PI planning.
  • Collaborate with other Technical Analysts on the SAFe Agile Release Train.
  • Collaborate and communicate with all levels of management.
  • Determine operational objectives by studying business functions, gathering information, and evaluating output requirements and formats.
  • Maintain system protocols by writing and updating procedures.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing professional publications.
Qualifications


Qualifications

You Have
  • 0-3 years of professional experience.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize competing tasks.
  • Strong communication skills, able to communicate complex problems and solutions in a concise manner, as well as persuade stakeholders to adopt an alternative approach.
  • Critical thinking skills, ability to define problems, establish facts and draw conclusions.
  • A strong drive and willingness to grow beyond your current position and responsibilities.
  • Some experience with data mapping and/or APIs.
  • Knowledge and experience with distributed programming languages such as Java and/or C#.
  • Knowledge and experience with relational databases.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.

Nice to Have
  • Experience bridging the gap between business and technical stakeholders.
  • Experience creating technical requirements or refining Agile user stories.
  • Knowledge of group insurance.

Location & Vaccination Requirements
  • The primary location for this position is work from home, with occasional travel to a Guardian office.
  • Covid – 19 vaccinations required for this position.
