We are looking for Jr. Production Team Lead to operate out of our Visalia facility.

Job SummaryThe Jr. Team Lead is responsible for assisting the Senior Operator & Team Lead in the set up and control of flow on the extrusion lines. Including learning the feeder system, application of reclaim, mandrel changes, die set ups, quality control, oven set up, string up on the California room. Other tasks will be assigned based upon need and skill level.

Knowledge/Skills/AbilitiesTechnical Skills:
  • Demonstrate ability to assist with line string up of material at start-ups or change over’s.
  • Assist in Mandrel & Die changes.
  • Assist in setting up run recipe for extruders including temperature profile controls.
  • Understand Blowing agent profile and hazards along with its operating system.
  • Understand and know how to do Silo reports.
  • Know and perform Additive and Color cycle counts.
  • Assist Lead in Resin unloading from railcars.
  • Demonstrate the ability to change screens on all extruders.
Problem Solving
  • Able to follow troubleshooting guides to solve any type of quality problem.
  • Able to check and correct all production reports for accuracy.
  • Know the different screen gauges between extruders.

Teamwork

  • Demonstrate the ability to work well with others.
  • Assist Lead in operation of extruders to complete production schedule

Communication

  • Able to communicate effectively with others in verbal or written form.
  • Understand that communication is a critical function to effective operation regardless of time of service or skill level.
  • Must read and follow instructions from Lead & Supervisor daily and report critical data.
  • Must be able to mentor newer operators on safe working habits.
  • Participate in operational skills training and demonstrate the ability to learn and apply new skills.
  • Assist in the training of level 1 & 2 operators.

Leadership Skills

  • Demonstrate the ability to perform tasks with little supervision.
  • Show the ability to offer help and ask for help before it is a critical need.
  • Lead a team to achieve best business results of Safety, Quality, Efficiency, Cost, & Housekeeping also promoting teamwork in the department.
Required Education, Experience and Qualifications
  • Education: High School Diploma or credentialed equivalent in English & Mathematics.
  • At least two to three (2- 3) years’ experience in a manufacturing / production environment.
  • Must currently be in a lead role overseeing at least five (5) employees.
  • Must have a strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Working Conditions: Ability to walk or stand for prolonged periods; ability to bend, stoop, reach and lift up to 50 pounds and endure elevated temperature levels.
  • Shift Availability: First shift: 7:00 am till 3:30 pm.
  • Overtime requirements: Overtime as needed daily or weekends based upon business needs.
  • Additional auxiliary equipment: Possess or learn the ability to operate Forklift, Cranes, Floor Jacks, Saws, Knives (other hand tools).
