Job Description

The Platform team owns the StatStak platform experience shipped with our web applications and several microservices. This provides users the ability to upload their sports performance data and interact with the analytics we build on top of the gathered datasets. We are focused on delivering a best- in-class experience for coaches and players, while also collaborating internally with robust backend APIs for building specialized new experiences and features. We work closely with various stakeholders and talented engineers from across the company and are the drivers for many high leverage initiatives that push the StatStak platform forward.

As a Backend API developer on the platform team, you will help design, build and maintain our APIs across several microservices, and collaborate closely with frontend engineers, company leadership, and other team members from across the company.

You Will

Maintain existing APIs, data calculation functions and help improve user experience in bug fixes.

Collect, store, manage, and moving large amounts of data.

Design and develop new APIs for various functions.

*
Optimize and scale the performance of our systems.

*
Collaborate with other iOS, infrastructure, frontend, and server engineers from across the organization.

*
Work closely with the CTO and CEO to help shape and refine the platform experience.

*
Hold yourself and your team to the highest standard of engineering excellence and prioritize quality over quantity.

*
Help shape the future of our codebase by building flexible, extendable, and reusable methods.

Qualifications

*
Familiar with REST APIs and JSON objects.

*
Understanding of HTTP protocols.

*
Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, familiarity with

functional programming is a plus.

*
Experience in using python3, flask, and sqlalchemy.

*
Experience with SQL databases.

*
Experience with postman.

*
Experience with version control (Git) and open source practices.

*
Experience with agile methodology.

*
Understanding of cloud native, container based applications.

*
Experience with tools like docker, kubernetes

*
A passion for building web applications at all levels – from the high

level architectural decisions to the data schemas.

An innate desire to build mission critical & scalable products that our

coaches will depend on every day to successfully run their teams.

A desire to learn and better yourself in tech.

OPTIONAL: understanding of baseball data is preferred.
