Position Description

This position reports directly to the IT Manager of E-J Electric Installation Co. The ideal candidate is hard working, focused and organized; works well with others and has a strong sense of urgency. Someone who enjoys taking the initiative and will be proactive in managing all levels of tasks, duties and projects as assigned.


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Acts as an initial contact for the IT department for users requesting technical assistance. Ensures all support calls are answered, logged, triaged and assigned to the appropriate resources.
  • Administers all software, hardware, and equipment by processing orders, receiving shipments, managing license compliance and tracking user assignments.
  • Maintain Active Directory and Exchange by adding and removing users, assigning groups and updating user information.
  • Assure continuity of all system by performing basic troubleshooting and maintenance.
  • Configure cellphones and mobile devices and assist end-users with connectivity.
  • Monitor and maintain VoIP phone system by managing users, assigning extensions and printing off monthly phone records.
  • Assist with the installation and upgrading of network equipment and applications.
  • Occasional travel to job sites in NY Metro area for preventative maintenance and support (Vehicle a plus but not mandatory).
  • Performs any other related projects and duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • At least 3-5 years of full-time work experience in a computer or technology related position. May substitute required experience with equivalent years of education beyond the minimum education requirement.
  • Ability to work productively as an individual contributor and collaboratively as a team member in a fast-paced, time-sensitive, customer-responsive, and team-oriented environment.
  • Exceptionally well-organized and able to effectively analyze and resolve complex problems while prioritizing workload and act with increased independence in solving problems.
  • Need to be able to communicate technical information to non-technical users in a professional and courteous manner with all levels of staff.
  • Working knowledge of Office 365’s Admin Portal, Active Directory, Exchange and various Windows operating systems including MS Windows Server 2008/2012/2016
  • Must have ability to carry/move heavy equipment without assistance and without injury to self or damage to items being moved throughout the premises.
  • Knowledge of VMWare and VOIP phone systems a plus.
  • Knowledge of SQL a plus.
  • Work hours are from 7AM to 4PM.
