IT Support Specialist

Works across a broad range of technologies and liaises across multiple areas of the business to support incidents, problems, and requests. Responsible for answering IT requests via phone, email, live chat, in person, or instant message and explaining solutions in technical and nontechnical terms.

Technical Support Specialist Responsibilities:

  • Install PCs, telephone systems, wireless networks, and peripheral devices (such as printers, scanners, mobile/smart phones) related to desktop infrastructure, in accordance with department standards
  • Maintain installed PCs, networks, telephone systems and peripherals with routine maintenance
  • Identify, log, and resolve technical problems with software applications or network systems
  • Identify potential changes and system improvements to present to senior team leaders for consideration and implementation
  • Create, maintain, and distribute reports of progress to senior leadership
  • Maintain the organization and health of Active Directory, ensuring the accuracy and relevance of information.
  • Create new and maintain existing accounts, mailboxes, and groups as needed in Active Directory and Office365.
  • Maintain mobile and landline telephony systems, connectivity, and hardware
  • Conduct research and make recommendations on network products, services, protocols, and standards in support of network procurement and development efforts
  • Plans, organizes, directs, and coordinates all activities related to the management, configuration, implementation, and support of the MDM application servers, software components, mobile devices, and mobile device management systems.
  • Provide day-to-day technical support to users for tickets via phone, email, and remote connection
  • Ensure that work is carried out within agreed service levels and in accordance with department guidelines

Technical Support Requirements:

  • Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology preferred.
  • Prior experience with Azure, Azure AD, and Office365 administration a plus
  • Prior experience with Microsoft Windows 10, Office 365, Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point and Teams.
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience in a tech support position
  • Proficiency in Windows required (Mac OS a plus)
  • Time-management skills and the ability to establish reasonable and attainable deadlines for resolution
  • Comfortable working in and assisting others through remote company help desktop software programs
  • Prior experience with MDM solutions a plus
  • Experience with remote desktop applications and help desk software.
  • Attention to detail and good problem-solving skills.
  • Professional written and interpersonal skills

Location: Buchanan, NY. Occasional day travel required to support other NY/CT offices.
