The MES Development Supervisor role will be responsible for working with business leaders and users as well as IT resources to define, develop, implement and support standardized Camstar MES solutions across a global environment. This will be a working supervisor position, splitting time between supervision and hands-on development activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise a team of Camstar development experts, guiding the work and ensuring best practices are followed.
  • Objective setting and Performance management for the team
  • Development of best practices and maintain Corning architecture in Camstar MES.
  • Design, Build, Implement and support Camstar systems in accordance to standard Corning IT practices • Strong technical understanding and hands-on experience with Camstar modeling and development tools: Designer, Portal, CIO
  • Strong technical understanding and hands-on experience with various technical capabilities like .Net, Angular, AJAX, T-SQL, Microsoft SQL Server and SQL Server BI components, etc…
  • Engage with internal/external customers to analyze requirements from a business and systems perspective by interpreting business goals and objectives and translating them into technical solutions. Strong understanding of ERP, MES, shop floor controls and how they integrate together to provide a complete solution to the plant.
  • Ensure that MES work is completed on schedule and that impacts to manufacturing systems are thoroughly documented and communicated.
  • Create specifications for developers to use as direction for development.

Required Skills:

  • BS/MS in Computer Science /Systems Management/IT Related field
  • 5-7 years experience
  • Strong understanding of Manufacturing Execution Systems and specifically Camstar modeling and designer
  • Strong leadership and project management skills
  • In-depth knowledge of industry best practices in application development
  • 5+ years’ experience using programming languages
  • Experience working with IT systems in a 24/7 manufacturing environment
  • In-depth knowledge of source code management systems
  • In-depth knowledge of relational databases

  • Strong communication, presentation, organizational, facilitation and negotiation skills (including ability to “translate” between business and technology needs).
  • Proven track record of implementing IT solutions that make meet business demands and are technically sound.
