POSITION SUMMARY:

Working under general supervision this position supports IT Security Managers. As part of a cross-functional team, lead the implementation and administration of security activities and solutions of low to medium complexity such as: Incident detection, control and response, design and implement security controls, identify risks and exceptions, and management processes.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Perform core security team activities, such as: Incident handling, triage and response; risk and exception identification and review; vulnerability scanning and remediation.
  • Participate in the evaluation, development and implementation of security controls based on approved security architectures; perform risk assessments, security compliance audits, vulnerability assessments and/or gap analysis as required.
  • Work with strategic partners to assist adoption of Information Security policies, standards, procedures, guidelines, and best practice through the Security Awareness program. Develop risk and compliance management policies, processes and procedures.
  • Support management in execution of the overall security mission by participating in the continuous monitoring, reporting and development of risks, exceptions, policies and standards; technical and operational procedures documentation; checklists; and user guides.
  • Facilitate remediation plan processes by meeting with key stakeholders and managers to develop appropriate response action plans.
  • Perform system administration for networking devices or maintain risk register or monitor vulnerability scanning software.

Qualifications - External

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Practical knowledge of IT Security theory/practices
  • Practical Knowledge of IT Risk and Compliance theory/practices
  • Practical knowledge of IT Security Engineering principles
  • Practical Knowledge of relevant laws, auditing principles and incident handling
  • Practical knowledge of IT Security frameworks such as NIST, CIS20, etc.
  • Working experience with cybersecurity infrastructure building blocks (e.g. firewalls, IDS, IPS, SIEM, DNS, routers, switches, load balancers, and anti[1]malware)
  • Practical Knowledge of IT Infrastructure/ architecture/ roles and responsibilities
  • Knowledge of Identity and Access Management Systems and scanning tools
  • Ability to work independently and lead teams
  • Strong communication skills with ability to conceptualize
  • Incident Handling, Log Analysis or risk evaluating
  • Proficiency in MS Office, query reporting and GRC tools
  • Conceptualize requirements into comprehensible models
  • Time management skills
  • Familiarity with cloud and virtualized computing architectures, operations, maintenance, and performance optimization.
  • Ability to work on multiple initiatives at once.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Bachelor’s Degree OR 4 years relevant experience, OR a combination of college education and relevant experience equivalent to 4 years (Computer Science, Information Systems/Technology or related program)

AND

  • 3 or more years of combined experience in IT Security. A degree focused in cybersecurity may replace one of these years.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Business presentation skills
  • IT Systems Administration
  • Application development and database management a plus
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum a plus
  • Knowledge of industry standards such as NIST CSF and 800 series, CIS20, COBIT

Other Certifications | Licenses Required:

  • Technology or Security related Certification required (e.g. Network+, MCP, Security+, CCNA, CEH, MCSE, etc.). Working towards CISSP or equivalent.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

This position requires the ability to sit for long periods of time, hear and converse over the telephone and key frequently on a computer (4 or more hours per day).

Pay: $65,000.00 - $83,000.00 per year
