Job Description

The Information Technology (IT) Program Manager Front of House Applications is responsible for the planning, managing, tracking, reporting and overall oversight of front of house projects within the IT Project Portfolio which include hotel, gaming, food and beverage, sales and catering and other IT projects that support the front of house business teams. These projects reflect all current IT projects within Solutions Delivery and Shared Services. The IT Program Manager Front of House Applications will proactively monitor and manage project status, project financial health, cross-team issues, risks and dependencies with respect to the IT PMO methodology, governance processes, policies and procedures.

The IT Program Manager Front of House Applications, a member of the IT Project Management Office, will seamlessly partner with the Product Manager as well as the Solution Delivery and Shared Services teams to plan, execute, compile, monitor and report the health of all projects and programs. Additionally, the IT Program Manager Front of House Applications will partner with IT Finance to ensure project Capital and Expense detail is reported for all projects within the IT Portfolio and IT Governance to ensure project methodology and process compliance is adhered to.

The IT Program Manager Front of House Applications must have solid understanding of hotel operations, gaming operations, project management processes and execution, as well as the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC), and leverage that knowledge to understand impacts across the entire portfolio, proactively manage risks, coordinate and quickly resolve issues, and provide leadership and guidance to a team of project managers and business analysts. The Program Manager is accountable for developing and managing the project management and software development methodology including processes to ensure the preparation and timely delivery of IT portfolio status, an executive Portfolio Review and maintenance of the IT Portfolio updates. The Program Manager role is one that requires team leadership, business acumen, strong relationship management skills within IT and the Business and ability to address executive audiences.

Furthermore the IT Program Manager Front of House Applications should understand the alignment of project work with corporate strategies and be able to proactively manage project change within the portfolio to improve enterprise wide risk management, issue resolution, planning and re-planning of projects as they relate to strategies, and identify and recommend timing of project in-service moves and dates. The Program Manager role will be involved with maturing the project management and software development methodology, polices, processes, tools and templates to contribute to successful delivery of the IT Project Portfolio. A strong understanding of project governance in the context of project and large scale program management, software development, and testing life cycles is a must.

Job Responsibilities:


  • IT Interaction – Build collaborative partnerships with the various IT units to ensure departmental goals are met based
  • Business Interaction – Builds partnerships, based on trust and transparency, with the various business units to report IT Portfolio and Project health and status.
  • Project Management – Solid understanding of project management methodology to identify and communicate issues, risks and dependencies.
  • IT Financial Acumen - Responsible for ensuring IT Financials are accurately reflected by project, area and for the portfolio as a whole.
  • Reporting – Experience building and automating reports, real-time dashboards and executive level presentations.
  • Process – Responsible for maturing complex project management processes and methodology.
  • Governance – Responsible for establishing compliance to methodology and process.
  • Responsible for managing /running complex programs and projects.
  • Ensure that all projects follow standard policy, procedures, and methodology.
  • Undertakes and plans for program and project contingency planning and risk mitigation.
  • Responsible for planning, budgeting, estimating, and scheduling of multiple program and project goals, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Leads, Mentors, and Manages team of Project Managers and Business Analysts responsible for the planning and execution of IT program and projects.
  • Defines PM resources for program and project implementation.
  • Identify and solve/resolve project and program risks and issues effectively.
  • Oversees and directs the project management team and manages conflict within the team.
  • Oversee procurement process involved in projects and programs involving but not limited to, developing RFI/RFP, developing strategy and approach to score, management of the procurement process, contract negotiation, and successful vendor relationship management and communication.
  • Mentor & develop the team through regular One on One meeting, team meetings, and other recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Exhibits leadership skills to manage team of project managers to meet strategic delivery and successful completion of IT portfolio.
  • In depth understanding and experience with Project Management Office (PMO) processes, policies, procedures and ability, with proven experience, to identify gaps, recommend solutions, and execute remediation.
  • Champion and foster formal project change management processes and procedures.
  • Ability to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization but most importantly at Director and above.
  • Monitors and ensures compliance to IT PMO policy, procedure, and methodology.
  • Champions and trains IT-PMO policy, procedure, and methodology to IT and Business.
  • Assist with business development activities such as identification, project proposal development, and project change documentation and communication.
  • Very Strong understanding of the system development life cycle.

Job Requirements

  • Knowledge and experience working in a Gaming Industry IT department within a Fortune 500 company.
  • 5 + years of experience working in Information Technology.
  • 5 + years of experience with project management, specifically with large scale transformation programs, involving business process and change, organization change, and multiple large scale technology components.
  • 2 + years of experience managing direct reports preferred
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) Certification preferred.
  • Large scale IT Program Management experience preferred.
  • Experience working in hotel operations, gaming operations and/or hotel sales and catering a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business from an accredited college/university preferred
  • Experience using automated project management, portfolio management and IT governance tools.
  • SharePoint experience and development preferred.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain any licensing or active work cards required, at present or in the future, for this position at all times
