The Nurse Informaticist is responsible for providing expertise and support for existing information systems to ensure that the technology is used appropriately and efficiently, that established technical and quality standards are followed, that any minor enhancements are cost effective and the information meets the needs of the end user and enhances patient care. Works closely with nurses, physicians, pharmacists and ancillary staff to clarify needs and prioritize requests. Essential Functions:
  • Responsible for integrating clinical content effectively and efficiently within the system parameters by utilizing project management. With the CMIO, responsible for order set management for EMR.
  • Identified leader for requests for changes in nursing documentation.
  • Selects, orients, coordinates and evaluates Subject Matter Experts. Responsible for their on-going education and training.
  • Helps identify clinical data requirements of the patients across the facility as it relates to quality and safety.
  • Helps coordinate the advancement of clinical information systems to satisfy these data requirements.
  • Maintain ongoing knowledge and understanding of regulatory requirements.
  • Assists with education at unit level regarding changes and updates.
  • Available to answer questions and concerns from front-line nurses regarding informatics.
Demonstrate Standards of Behavior and adhere to the Code of Conduct in all aspects of job performance at all times. Position Requirements: For employees working on site at any CH location, being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 is an essential requirement. Qualifications: Required:
  • Minimum of five years clinical experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • WA state RN license.
  • Ability to analyze and resolve complex issues, both logical and interpersonal.
  • Effective verbal and written communications skills including effective presentation skills, all geared toward coordination and education.
  • Effective negotiation and conflict management skills.
  • Working knowledge of:
    • Clinical documentation and workflows
    • Computerized provider order entry
    • Biomedical device integration
Desired:
  • Recent experience as subject matter expert or analyst.
