Job Description

SUMMARY

The IT Manager is responsible for leading and developing a team of service desk technicians to provide support for the business. This individual will have responsibility as assigned for IT technical support and provide day-to-day operational tasks. The IT Manager ensures the successful IT equipment procurement, maintenance, provision, tracking and status reporting. This position requires excellent communication, documentation, and time management skills, and collaborate with many cross functional team members. The expectations of this position also include support for division-wide systems and IT projects. This individual is expected to have a strong drive to deliver results and commitment to continuous improvement. This position will also provide support to systems, network, application, compliance, and project management team initiatives as needed.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead, develop, mentor, manage a team of service desk technicians to support critical business applications, servers, network, PCs, laptops, printers, scanners, peripherals…etc.
  • Lead daily team huddles to provide directional and technical support
  • Ensure team procures, configure, maintains, and perform inventory tracking for computers, mobile devices, printers, handheld scanners.
  • Assist with licensing compliance and annual true-up activities
  • Assist and adhere to ITGC compliance requirements
  • Assist network administrator and system engineers as needed
  • Manage backup operations for local systems, utilizing either physical media or online storage capabilities including servers and end-user computers
  • End users access management throughout the organization
  • Assist with regularly schedule user access reviews in active directory and other applications as needed
  • Ensure the helpdesk team performance remains within the established goals for SLA (Service Level Agreement)
  • Assist with site specific budget for IT infrastructure requirements
  • IT Project Management – create and manage project plans with goals of delivering every project on time, within budget and within scope
  • Assist IT project managers with strategic and important projects.
  • Disaster Recovery – assist with DR related activities including documentation, design, planning, testing, and reporting
  • Documentation – ensure all team members maintain current and accurate documentation for the following: SOP (standard operating procedures, Processes, Contracts, Software licensing, managed services, systems, and networks…etc.
  • Ensure the team established KPI (key performance indicators) goals achieved
  • Continuous development and direction of IT staff
  • Seek opportunities to constantly improve and help with continuous improvement projects.
  • Regular and predictable on-site attendance
  • Communicate, present and report information to peers, leaders, team members, business users regularly as needed.
  • Other duties may be assigned

SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Direct and support local IT activities and staff
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning assisting, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints, resolving issues, and resolving conflicts.
  • Provides ongoing training to applicable staff to develop and encourage their technical and operational performance. Meet with appropriate staff on a timely basis for performance evaluations and goal setting
  • Perform performance reviews, establish team goals, and ensure team goals are achieved.
  • Ensures company standard practices and procedures are followed in connection with all department functions

JOB SKILLS

  • Must be experienced with PCs using Windows, MS Office (Word, Excel), Microsoft Project and preferably ERP/MRP software system such as SAP.
  • Must be self-motivated and aggressive in the pursuit of winning business while minimizing risk to achieve sales growth and must be able to function effectively in a very busy environment and willing to work hours (travel) that are outside the norm.

  • ASTM F–2412–2005, ANSI Z41–1999, or ANSI Z41–1991 rated safety toe shoes in specific areas
  • Clear ANSI Z87.1 safety rated glasses in specific areas
  • Hearing protection, in specific locations
  • Ability to compile with JSA in specific areas

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Appropriate education and/or experience may be substituted on equivalent basis

  • Bachelor’s degree from four-year College or University (Information Technology, Information Systems) preferred. Applicable experience can be substituted for college education
  • Four (4) to seven (7) years of progressive experience in professional information technology position(s) is required
  • At least 2 years of experience managing medium to large size team of direct reports.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Must maintain industry certifications as applicable to position and value stream that is supported. Including but not limited to; IPC-WHMA-A-620, IPC-JSTD-001, IPC-610, IPC-600 and NASA 8739

  • CompTIA A+, CompTIA Server+, CompTIA Network+, Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA), Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE), VMware Certified Professional, certifications preferred, or relevant experience
