Home Care Assistance is a nationwide Home Care Company with 60+ company locations in 15+ states. The IT Help Desk Specialist will support our teams throughout the US.


This is a remote position which would be responsible for ALL time zones. Infrequent on-call may be required. Please apply only if you are able to meet these needs.


A day in a life in this role will widely vary in duties. You will be in consistent communication with teams involving specific follow up with ongoing projects and resolving issues. You must be responsive to emails, direct chats, and calls or texts to ensure that you have no pending support requests from your immediate supervisor/team or regional teams. Support requests come in daily and sporadically depending on the needs of the teams. Projects are assigned based on IT infrastructure and operational needs. You will report to the Head of IT Operations.


The IT Help Desk Specialist will be working with local and regional teams to resolve any technical issues involving office and personal hardware, company networks, phone systems, and software systems. You will be assisting with new hire onboarding processes such as creating new email addresses, phone system accounts, identifying equipment orders, and other assignments. Alternatively, there will be offboarding tasks assigned such as time-sensitive changed password access, accounting for returned equipment, etc.


Project management duties involve helping improve processes, maintaining and managing infrastructure, policy, and procedure. Assisting with end-user support of all systems and equipment.


Your patience, communication, and customer service skills should be some of the cornerstones within your work ethic as you collaborate with our operations and field teams.


Responsibilities include:


  • Support all IT infrastructure needs for 60+ corporate locations (phone/internet, cell phones, computer, and other equipment setups)
  • Provide help desk support for the locations
  • Help set-up new locations across the country, leading process and coordinating relationships with local and national vendors, landlords
  • Ensure local teams have the right support infrastructure; facilities are working well
  • Respond to outages and major events and takes appropriate actions
  • Provides on-call support after hours as required
  • Evaluate and build strong vendor relationships meeting the service needs of each local team
  • Project management
  • Strong VoIP knowledge, 8x8 experience preferred
  • Able to travel 10%

Technical requirements and experience:


  • Proven experience with VoIP
  • Google Admin Portal experience
  • Office 365 Portal experience
  • Ticketing system and documentation experience
  • Windows 10 and Mac OS experience
  • Printer setup and troubleshooting. Must be able to add printers via IP address
  • Computer diagnostics and troubleshooting
  • Network diagnostics and troubleshooting
  • Cell phone diagnostics and troubleshooting
  • 2+ years IT and facilities experience, Bachelor’s Degree
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication abilities
  • Must be detail-oriented with the ability to keep up with fast-paced 24/7 environment
  • Must be tech-savvy, comfortable with heavy email, spreadsheets, all Microsoft Office products
  • Must be a self-starter and able to shift gears at any given time
  • Must be a problem-solver, and be a team-player
