Job Description
As the Security Analyst III, you will be responsible for Summit’s Cybersecurity Framework and security administration. You will use your knowledge of multidisciplinary security concepts to provide expert analysis to department and Summit leadership. You will respond to and report on IT security incidents by providing an initial assessment of impact severity and types of incidents being addressed. You will perform periodic operating system and application security assessments of simple to moderate complexity and review for evidence of vulnerability or compromise and assisting with the implementation of resolution.
Role Summary:
- Continuously develop and maintain Summit’s Cybersecurity Framework.
- Respond, contain, investigate, and remediate Security Events and Incidents and provide root cause analysis. Continuously develop and maintain Summit’s Incident Response.
- Work with our Managed Security Service Provider to maintain Summit's SEIM environment.
- Lead in the design and execution of summit’s vulnerability management program and validate that the vulnerabilities are remediated.
- Collaborate with teams across IT to architect and build baseline configurations to protect systems and infrastructures.
- Provides guidance and support to IT team and Summit employees for adherence with information security requirements and guidelines.
- Evaluates and implement new technologies, tools and processes that improve the overall security of the infrastructure.
- Strive to automate routine security tasks and processes.
- Serve as SME for IT and across the organization specializing in Cybersecurity.
Qualifications
Essential Skills and Experience

You have a strong understanding of industry trends and product offerings. You have the ability to drive third party integrations and relationships
- B.S. in Computer Science or related field; or equivalent experience/training.
- 5+ years of relevant experience
- Extensive Cyber and IT security knowledge including security risks, threats and prevention measures
- Extensive understanding of NIST 800-171.
- Extensive understanding of application security, network, and cloud security (SAAS based and hosted) solutions, security standards, and best practices
- Data understanding of network monitoring and protocols
- Experience in solutions: network access control, SEIM, Endpoint protection, vulnerability management platforms, etc.
- Experience in hardware: servers, VMs, laptops, routers, firewalls, etc.
- Experience in operating systems: Linux, Mac, Windows, iOS, and Android
- Must be proactive and have a strong work ethic.
- Must be organized and able to plan/orchestrate work activities.
- Must have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Must be able to work independently and in a team environment.
- Must be an effective communicator in both technical and common business language.
Beneficial Skills and Experience
- Knowledge of CIS hardening standards.
- Knowledge in development of key security metrics.
- CCNA Security Certification or higher.
- ITIL Foundations Certification or higher.
- (ICS)2 SSCP Certification or higher.
- CEH Certification or higher.
Physical Challenges:
- Consistent sitting for many hours at one time.
- Ability to climb stairs on occasion.
- Must be able to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to travel as necessary.
