Job Description
Overview: Seeking a creative, self-motivated and driven experienced IoT Database Administrator / Developer with strong programing experience to join our iOPS™ product development team. We are only looking for the best of the best to join our amazing development team. Must have strong knowledge of IoT, Distributed SQL networks, Performance Tuning and Query Optimization.
The IoT SQL Database Administrator / Developer must be a visionary who can help define the path needed to get the iOPS™ platform to the next level and support data coming from multiple sources and being processed at over 100,000 records per second through the ETL processes
As a IoT Database Administrator / Developer working in a dynamic cross functional team you will be expected to help define the roadmap for the future.
Support and work with all other team members, along with ensuring the current systems are always available and on-lineResponsibilities:
  • Participate in the research and recommendation of new software and/or versions for current system configurations.


  • Recommend improvements to architecture management processes and procedures.
  • Provide information on long term technology solutions to meet the future needs as well as maintain database reliability and service level standards.
  • Evaluate and benchmark new infrastructure components, hardware and software, by rating the areas of component functionality, capacity, system compatibility, efficiency and security
  • Performance turning and troubleshooting database performance; query optimization; creation and scripting of databases and database objects.
  • Be a mentor to developers on subjects pertaining to database development activities.
  • Participate in all software development calls as key member of the team.


  • Performing client / server and web-based systems support.
  • Perform activities related to the analysis and implementation of future databases.
  • Establish and utilize effective policies and procedures for the definition, management, protection, and efficient utilization of systems, data and databases.
  • Best practices implementing, maintaining, monitoring and tuning SQL Server Databases and related applications.
  • Database backup and recovery / disaster recover planning and testing.
  • Plan, monitor and manage the use of database space.
  • Provide 24x7 on-call, Keep Productions, DR and Developments infrastructure in sync, Backups, Restores and Security Administration.
Qualifications:
  • 7+ years hands-on experience in t-SQL development / administration in MS SQL Server databases in an IoT environment.
  • High Availability experience (Cluster, Always On, Log Shipping, Availability Groups) is a must
  • Experience with setup and configuration SQL Server databases.
  • Extensive experience writing complex t-SQL statements, triggers, jobs, and stored procedures is required.
  • Experience with Angular, Ionic, .Net Core a plus
  • Experience with the development of Web based and Mobile applications that support IoT.
  • Proven skills with Open-Source Technology such as GitHub, NodeJS, Linux/Ubuntu, Bash, Docker.
  • Strong working knowledge of JavaScript, Typescript, C#, HTML, CSS, Sass, jQuery a plus
  • Scrum / Agile


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE


7+ Years’ experience working with large scale distributed SQL Servers

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.


REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, musical notes, etc.,) in its most difficult phases. Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.


OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Must have the ability to design systems and components to form, fit and function of customer requirements and to comply with industry standards. This design work may be performed in an area where little or no standardization exists.


Must have the ability to organize and delegate multiple project elements to coworkers.
