Job Description
Conducts routine, complex, and sensitive investigations of reported violations of state codes and regulations governing licensees of state boards. Works with various officials and agencies on the local, state, and federal level. Submits written reports detailing findings of investigations. Prepares appropriate investigative documentation including correspondence to the complainant and respondent. Maintains updated case files for all investigations. Enters all investigative activity taken into the Regulatory Licensing and Enforcement System (ReLaes). Prepares and maintains a work schedule, utilizing the electronic calendar, outlining daily and projected activities. Completes related paperwork and enters time/attendance into SCEIS per agency guidelines. Serves as a witness in board disciplinary hearings, MOA hearings, and other hearings as required. Attends other meetings as required. Performs other duties as may be assigned including the timely submission of monthly reports to the Chief Investigator. Information contained in the report should consist of, but is not limited to, the case number, complainant/respondent, action taken, case status, and next steps.

A high school diploma and experience conducting investigations or performing other law enforcement duties. A bachelor’s degree in a related field may be substituted for the required work experience. Must have a valid South Carolina Driver's License and provide a 10 year MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) that complies with State and Agency Fleet guidelines.

May require overnight statewide travel. May require extended periods of driving and sitting and may require visiting private facilities that are non ADA complaint. May need to bend, stoop, kneel and lift up to 40 lbs.
