Job Description
Investigator (226 Days) -(RTP20220525-008) Description
  • Conduct administrative investigations of alleged violations of District policy and procedure; to include complaints involving alleged Title VII and Title IX violations, such as sexual harassment, sex discrimination, and gender-based discrimination by students and employees.
  • Act as a neutral investigator to ensure prompt, thorough, and impartial investigation of all cases.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of best practices and methodologies for conducting investigations, including interviewing, gathering and analyzing evidence, and writing investigation reports.
  • Create investigation plans, secure facts, and examine evidence to establish the extent of policy violations.
  • Conduct interviews with District personnel, students, complainants, respondents, alleged victims, and other witnesses.
  • Review, analyze, and apply District policy and codes of conduct to investigations and findings.
  • Ensure a well-documented investigation and create a comprehensive written investigative report that clearly identifies the issues investigated, relevant policies, and summarizes relevant evidence.
  • Exchange information with other PSO personnel, District personnel, and other law enforcement agencies, as appropriate.
  • Communicate regularly with team members and management to share information.
  • Participate in grievance hearings, Texas Education Agency hearings, and Title IX hearings.
  • Attend training and applicable professional development through organizations and agencies such as Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE), Association of Workplace Investigators (AWI), ATIXA, and the EEOC.
  • Ensure compliance with District policy and administrative procedures.
  • Keep abreast of District policies and procedures relevant to assigned investigations.
  • As necessary, communicate with the Texas Education Agency and other school districts.
  • Perform all other tasks and duties as assigned.

    TITLE IX MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Receive and review the Title IX formal complaint.
  • Preserve and gather relevant evidence.
  • Determine what interviews to conduct and outline a potential schedule.
  • Provide a notice of interview to complainant and respondent for them to prepare.
  • Complete complainant, respondent, and witness interviews. Dallas Independent School District
  • Gather and review additional evidence and then provide all evidence directly related to the formal complaint to the parties for review.
  • Review any responses from parties after reviewing the evidence.
  • Prepare and finalize the investigative report to submit to the Title IX Coordinator.
  • Remain knowledgeable of current laws and regulations relating to Title IX.
  • Provide ongoing updates to the Title IX Coordinator and PSO Management.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
  • One to three years administrative investigations experience preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully complete assignments with minimum direction or supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to write clear, concise, and conclusive narrative reports.
  • Demonstrated familiarity with analytical methods to complete investigations work.
  • Demonstrated tact and diplomacy in working with various District and non-District personnel.
  • Demonstrated organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills required to achieve the goals of the position.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the techniques, methods and procedures used in gathering information and evidence in conducting investigations.
