The Inventory Management Assistant (Full-time Hourly) is a highly organized individual that supports the Purchasing and Planning teams. The Inventory Management Assistant will be responsible for proper data management of retail items and purchase orders. Working closely with the buyers, planners, and store teams, the position is integral to the cross-functional team’s success due to the high level of accountability and impact to the bottom line.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
• Follow up on PO deliveries and adjust delivery dates as needed to keep information current in the system • Coordinate PO Change Management with Buyers • Assist Accounting and the Stores in resolving issues related to vendor payments, freight, and invoice discrepancies. Provide summary reporting to track progress • Support buyers by accurately updating item maintenance in the system in accordance with the assortment plan such as item statuses • Gain a thorough understanding of the company’s shipping logistics and store guidelines and apply as appropriate • Escalate issues to cross functional team members • Identify process improvement opportunities and recommend solutions • Assist with other projects as needed
Skills / Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Arts or Science degree or equivalent industry experience • 1-3 years prior retail experience as an Inventory Control Analyst, Replenishment Analyst, or similar position • Must be accurate, detail oriented, organized, assertive, with the ability to prioritize and multi-task • Strong math and analytical skills and a full understanding of retail metrics • Ability to react quickly with a strong sense of urgency • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Teams, and Outlook, with the ability to adapt to internal systems • Reliable team player with the ability to develop great relationships with team members, vendors and stores • Strong Interpersonal/Written/Verbal Communication Skills • Positive attitude and adaptable to change
