Summary

We have an exciting intern opportunity in our Human Resources (HR) Talent Development team. This team is focused on providing informed, intentional, and ongoing development for Spire employees. This intern role, based in St Louis, MO, will assist in managing and leading our internal onboarding program, succession and development efforts, training initiatives, and developmental workshops.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist in program management for internal onboarding program, including facilitation
  • Manage the logistics for our Leading Spire Series, Spire’s frontline manager leadership program
  • Distribute and evaluate various assessment tests including DiSC, 5 Behaviors of a Cohesive Team, StrengthsFinder, etc.
  • Research developmental opportunities for Spire employees
  • Update and maintain an enterprise-wide training calendar
  • Partner with local and regional universities to establish continuing education partnerships
  • Curate inspirational articles, videos, book reviews, and other developmental resources for Spire’s internal social media platform
Required Education (certifications, licenses)
  • Rising Junior or Senior undergraduate student or graduate student
  • Degree area in Human Resources, HR Management, Industrial & Organizational Psychology, Business Administration with HR Concentration, Communications, or other relevant field of study
  • Demonstrated experience working in a team environment through collegiate activities or organizations
  • Minimum overall GPA of 3.0
Required knowledge, skill and abilities
  • Ability to lead projects from initiation through completion
  • Ability to lead by example in support of Spire’s values of safety, inclusiveness and integrity
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply basic math and writing principles
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint and Word) required
  • Strong written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to follow directions, work independently and multitask effectively
Physical demands, environment and schedule
  • Work is normally performed in an open, shared office environment
  • Typically, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday
  • Additional time beyond normal work hours is sometimes required to meet target timeframes for completing special projects or studie
