About the Position: Responsible for managing the efficient and effective coordination and accomplishment of the planning, scoping, development, design, construction, and direction of major civil works projects. Projects include General investigation (GI),Operations and Maintenance (O&M) and Construction General (CG).
Responsibilities
- Serve as Senior Project Manager.
- Responsible for the overall management, control, coordination and execution of assigned civil works project.
- Implement corporate decisions, guidance, laws, regulations and policy in the development of the projects and intermediate products in support of the project.
- Manage all project resources, information and commitments for the organization.
- Manage project milestones and budgets.
- Manage assigned project?s budget and schedule for the organization.
- Review and analyze cost reports to assure charges are authorized and appropriate.
25% or less - You may be expected to travel 20% for this position.

In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: Conducting water resources project management including: dams, water diversion structures, bridges, flood walls, levels, river control structures, flood plains, dredging, environmental restoration, relocations, rights-of-way and operations and maintenance aspects. Preparing, assembling, managing and defending cost estimates for projects in order to stay within available funding and accomplish reporting requirements. Planning the conduct of the study, determining needed team member disciplines and defining scope of study for team members. Integrating project scope and criteria, schedules and milestones, budgets, and responsibilities of the participating parties, assumptions and risks, contingencies, and performance measurement criteria. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone-no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
