Job Description

Brief Overview

Intact Family Support Specialist provides support to the Intact Casework team who provide in-home services while assessing child and family safety. Role Requires travel, good observation, and family engagement skills. Family Support Specialist's tasks include use of the SACWICS data system, supporting the case management staff in coordinating and facilitating services to community resources, crisis intervention services, assist families in locating employment, housing, daycare, and assistance with meeting basic needs.

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelors Degree in Human Services or related field
  • 0-2 minimum years of experience

Additional Requirements

  • 40 hours plus evenings and weekends as needed to assist with crisis and program needs.
  • Auto Insurance

  • Physical Exam/TB
  • Reliable transportation large enough to transport sibling groups also required as 50% travel weekly

Job Functions

  • Family Support Specialists support case management staff assist in arranging and/or provides transportation for families, such as school appointments, medical appointments, etc.
  • Family Support Specialists will be required to model appropriate parenting interaction and may train on the Nurturing Parent Program Model.
  • Must Pass SBC. Family Support Specialist will assist in record maintenance and security to ensure client confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
  • Ability to function well in a team environment and work well with outside collaterals.
  • Ability to follow instructions in specific projects possess sound organizational, interpersonal, and effective communication skills: verbal, written, and listening.
  • Demonstrate documentation, presentation skills, problem-solving techniques, and the ability to build professional relationships.
  • The position will cover Cook County within 9 months
