Job Purpose: With a focus on the customer service side of the insurance sales cycle, the Insurance Account Manager will manage and nurture customer relationships and lead all client communications.

General Summary: *The responsibilities include responding to customer inquiries, explaining coverage and premiums, informing clients on any policy or billing changes, and facilitating the claims process between clients and the adjuster. Account managers work closely with the rest of the team to enable ongoing and future sales or renewals. The ideal candidate will also possess a deep knowledge of general transportation insurance products and underwriting.

Job Duties

  • Assist clients on various high-risk legal support matters
  • Engage and assist clients on insurance product procurement and renewals
  • Assist with the sale of insurance products and programs
  • Assist in the development of new insurance products and programs
  • Give clear answers to clients on any coverage or billing questions including information on rate fluctuations or policy changes to ensure full understanding
  • Update policy changes on customer accounts and inform clients about policy changes according to NAIC regulations
  • Gather all documentation needed for reporting a claim and contact an adjuster to process it against a current policy
  • Meet regularly with agents to keep up with industry standards, insurance products, current rates, coverages, insurance policies, and carriers, so you can assist clients, underwriters, sales representatives, account executives, and the rest of our service team with understanding and addressing the newest rules and policy updates
  • Monitor and assist Executive Team, and all department managers in assessing and mitigating risk on various matters
  • Work with outside counsel on various legal matters related to Openforce and its clients
  • Prepare and maintain records in Salesforce.com and MS Office 365, and OneDrive

Education and Other Requirements

  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree required, or commensurate insurance industry experience
  • 3-5 years of related management experience
  • Possess Accident & Health, Property & Casualty and Surplus Licenses
  • Knowledge of legal principles, practices and terminology
  • Knowledge of contracting principles and practices
  • Knowledge of transportation insurance products and basic underwriting principles
  • Insurance experience as an insurance agent or other position is preferred
  • Must have very strong follow up, written and verbal communication skills and problem-solving skills
  • Candidates should have basic computer skills and be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel PowerPoint, etc.)
