Summary:Support the manufacturing process through calibration of test and measurement of equipment, to include RF measurement, physical dimension and DC to AC voltage measuring test equipment; performs work of moderate complexity within defined policies and procedures.Responsibilities:
- Calibrate inspection, measurement and test equipment in the following disciplines – electrical, dimensional, optical, physical/mechanical in order to ensure compliance with published specifications.
- Maintain primary and/or intrinsic calibration standards; maintain secondary and/or working calibration standards.
- Identify and correct measurement errors, as applicable; prepare calibration reports and certificates.
- Recommend standards for use in calibration applications.
- Adapt existing calibration equipment, standards and techniques to accomplish unique measurement tasks for which they are not principally used.
- Develop, document and maintain calibration systems and procedures, based on principles of measurement science, technical analysis of measurement problems and accuracy and precision requirements.
- Develop, implement and maintain the calibration laboratory’s quality systems per published standards and guidelines.
- Improve and maintain 5S in your area, make suggestions for improvements.
- Participate in Lean/Six Sigma activities in own work area as well as events for other areas to enhance cross-functional problem solving.
- Collaborate in team meetings and activities, including SET team support as appropriate.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Performs work of moderate complexity; using judgment within defined and established policies, procedures and standards while maintaining the spirit of excellence.
- One (1) year of related experience in electronic test and measurement calibration and/or repair.
- High School Diploma or GED, required.
PREFERRED:
- Associate’s degree in Electronic Technology, Military Trade skills, or trade school
- Detail-oriented with good manual and eye dexterity (precise) with ability to discern color
- Technical skills: ability to set up test equipment as defined by a documented test procedure;
- Communication skills: ability to receive messages by telephone, in person, electronically and in writing; ask questions and rephrase statements to clarify meaning; ability to read, interpret and comprehend complex written and verbal instructions; ability to present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization across organizational levels; ability to communicate with quality, integrity and respect in a way that inspires others and encourages innovation and possibilities; proficient English reading level to understand technical terminology used within the organization;
- Math skills: ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals; basic Ohm’s law, power and reactance formulas;
- Computer skills: exposure to a networked environment using a Windows and/or Windows like interface using Microsoft office suite; ability to use Enterprise-wide information systems such as SAP and drawing-viewing programs.
