Instructor guides who include course outline, learning event description, grading criteria, and assessment rubrics responsibilities
Provide academic content and instructional design that includes appropriate instructionalorganization and development of learning activities for online/hybrid courses based on curriculum determined by the school, selection of course materials and supplementary materials for online/hybrid courses, and determining appropriate course evaluation methods for student progress and final grade assessment in online/hybrid courses
Understand and utilize the approved academic philosophy and specific learning model of each school along with employing adult learning theory and online course delivery knowledge
Adhere to methods of authentic assessment that best measure the student's performance in the specified master course outcomes
Understand and adhere to a student-centered philosophy of learning where the student learning experience is the focal point of the online educational delivery
Partner with a subject matter experts for course development and learning assessment according to their respective academic qualifications
Research and map existing course content, textbook content, proprietary and third-party content to master course outcomes
Ability to work on several courses/programs at the same time while completing the development of all of the sections of a course within aggressive timelines based on launch dates and team timelines for completion
- This position requires knowledge of adult educational theory, online course delivery format, assessment tools, student needs, design format, and creativity.
- Requires knowledge of research skills, organizational skills to manage several projects simultaneously, efficiency measures for course design, collaborative team skills
- Microsoft Office software, Learning Content Management System application, Adaptive Learning system, maintaining tracker software and strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to solve issues quickly, asses training needs and learn new technologies
- Collaborate with and lead academic teams in development
- Requires a constant learning of new material, software, and processes
Required Experience
- Bachelor’s degree, Master’s preferred (preferably in education, instructional design, instructional technology, business, or IT) from an institution accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (or international equivalent)
- Must have 3-5 years of experience as an Instructional Designer
- Ability to collaborate, communicate, and conduct meetings with academic leadership.
- Ability to problem solve issues quickly, assess training needs, and learn and train new technologies
- Excellent verbal and written communication, production skills, and collaborative work style needed. Prefer experience in instructional design including writing, developing educational materials, performing instructional design, interacting with subject matter experts
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, self-starter, flexible, and detail-oriented; 24/7, results-oriented attitude
