Digitas Talent Development - Instructional Design Specialist

We are looking for an Instructional Design Specialist to design and develop learning experiences. This role will focus on ensuring that learners acquire knowledge, skills and competencies using effective and appealing learning strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct instructional research and analysis on learners and contexts.
  • Work with subject matter experts to identify target audience’s training needs
  • Plan instructional design projects.
  • Manage overall projects to ensure a consistent training experience that directly impacts employee success.
  • Adhere to adult learning theory and proven instructional design principles.
  • Create supporting material/media (audio, video, simulations, role-plays, games, etc.)
  • Consult, analyze, and develop highly engaging and interactive learning solutions focused on professional and leadership development, but not excluding specific functional skill learning.
  • Incorporate creativity in order to appeal to a diverse, global audience.
  • Deliver and facilitate live and virtual learning experiences to small and large audiences.
  • Work on-site and virtually with subject matter experts to collect data for training needs, consult on design projects and pilot learning solutions.
  • Communicate effectively in visual, oral, and written form and deliver engaging learning experiences.
  • Promote collaboration, partnership and relationships among the participants and stakeholders in a design project.
  • Collaborate with other learning professionals and business partners in delivering a consistent learning experience.
  • Be a thought leader in instructional design and innovation.
  • Work independently, yet collaborate with the broader team to ensure course alignment.
  • Manage other Talent Development team projects and ad hoc tasks as assigned.

Requirements
Qualified candidates will be self-starters, have excellent time management skills and the following skills, knowledge and abilities:

  • 5+ years of experience in Instructional Design
  • Proven working experience in instructional design and development
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong project management and leadership skills to achieve design target timelines
  • Working knowledge of Zoom and/or Microsoft Teams to deliver effective learning solutions
  • Experience working in (ADDIE) design environment
  • Experience designing, developing, and delivering emerging learning solutions including video, micro-learning, simulations, and immersive scenarios strongly preferred
  • Strong proficiency with industry standard design software (Adobe Creative Suite, Storyline and Captivate)
  • Ability to write effective learning promotion copy, instructional text, audio scripts/video scripts
  • Visual design skills (Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator) and ability to storyboard desired
  • Experience in marketing/advertising industry desired
