    JOB TITLE:
    Instructional Assistant - Flex

    JOB GOAL:
    To assist in the maintenance of an orderly, safe and pleasant atmosphere in the cafeteria and playground by helping and supervising students during lunch periods.

    QUALIFICATIONS:
    • High School Diploma or equivalent.
    • Ability to monitor and supervise small and large groups of students in a positive manner.
    • Ability to follow directions and school procedures from Principal and designated staff.
    • Effective communicator and work cooperatively with others.
    • Knowledge of and adherence to all policies, regulations and rules.
    • Must be able to read, write and speak English.
    • Prefer First Aid and/or CPR certification.
    • Must pass a background clearance.
    • Must obtain an Arizona IVP Clearance Card

    TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: 180 Days (9 Months) PT
    COMPENSATION: $13.32 - $15.83
    BENEFITS: As per District policy
    REPORTS TO: Principal
    HOURS: 10 hours per week
    CLASSIFICATION: Hourly, Non-exempt

    PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to, the following:
    • Supervise students and assist in the cafeteria during lunch and/or recess.
    • Accepting responsibility for students well being and safety, as the fundamental value in decision making, while they are in employee’s care.
    • Performing all duties in a safe and prudent manner as directed by the supervisor.
    • Provide excellent customer service skills to students, employees and community.
    • Demonstrate the ability to work with children in a patient, friendly, and enthusiastic manner.
    • Demonstrate interest in the nutrition and enthusiasm for school lunch menu items.
    • Encourage and support healthy eating during lunch through interaction with students.
    • Regulate and assist student traffic in an efficient, orderly manner.
    • Prevent and subdue disorderly behavior, refer disciple problems to the administrator.
    • Oversee that children clear tables and dispose of trash in proper receptacles.
    • Wipe and sanitize all tables before, during and after each lunch period. Assist in cleaning the floor.
    • Perform all duties in a safe and prudent manner.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
