Inspector, CEI

RK&K is currently hiring a Roadway Inspector to join our CEI team in Jacksonville, FL. This position is in our Construction Management group which oversees Contractors on roadway construction projects.

Essential Functions

• Assisting the Project Administrator or Senior Inspector in daily roadway inspection
• Ensuring contractor compliance alongside quality control
• Performing inspections and testing as required
• These tests and inspections include, but are not limited to: earthwork, asphalt, concrete, bridge structures, toll facilities, lighting, and signalization.
• This position receives general supervision and instruction from the Senior Inspector or Project Administrator.

Required Education, Skills and Experience

• High school graduate or equivalent plus two (2) years' experience in construction inspection, one (1) year of which shall have been in bridge and/or roadway construction inspection or an Engineer Intern with a Civil Engineering degree (requires certificate) having the ability to earn the required qualifications and certifications within one year.
• Must have the following as required by the scope of work for the project:
  • Qualifications
    • CTQP Concrete Field Inspector Level I
    • CTQP Asphalt Roadway Level I
    • CTQP Earthwork Construction Inspection Level I
  • Certifications

• FDOT Intermediate MOT
• Nuclear Radiation Safety
• IMSA Traffic Signal Inspector Level I
• Florida Stormwater, Erosion, and Sedimentation Control Training and Certification Program for Inspectors and Contractors

Preferred Education Skills and Experience

• Previous FDOT roadway construction inspection experience
• Critical Structures Construction Issues certification
• FDOT Self Study Computer Based Training course completion
