SUMMARY
The Inside Sales Representative shall serve as the main point of contact for external and internal customers. The position must successfully interact with existing customers in order to increase interest and qualify leads for the Outside Sales team. Inside Sales Representatives should have a keen understanding of product offerings and the ability to make sales while communicating our values and service standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage timely preparation of Request For Quotes (RFQ) and sales orders via walk in customers, phone calls and through email daily. Includes order and quote entry, direct customer communication regarding item availability and order fulfillment, sourcing products internally/externally.
Process orders to fulfill customer requirements daily. Includes verifying accuracy of the order by confirming pricing, margin, customer PO and freight amounts are accurate.
Respond accordingly to customer requests for Proof of Delivery (POD) daily.
Process Returned Material Authorizations (RMA) on all customer returns as they occur.
Review all unshipped orders and/or the unshipped pick ticket report in P21 daily.
Review reports and information in P21 system daily to track availability of product, forecast need, replenish inventory and/or coordinate transfers to meet customer demand.
Ensure the proper adherence to safety rules and procedures. Maintain an available and current Safety Data Sheet (SDS) manual.
Manage Blanket orders and truckload shipments to customers & jobsites.
Manage Direct Bill orders & shipments for Winoa & Carboline
Perform any other duties as assigned by the Branch Manager
QUALIFICATIONS
Must have the ability to successfully communicate with internal/external customers in a professional manner
Must have strong computer skills and be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products
Must be able to multi-task and perform all office tasks when needed
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school Diploma or GED required (2yr or 4yr degree preferred)
3-5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Three-five years in customer service, sales position and/or combination of both
Knowledge of abrasive media and blasting products/equipment highly desirable
ERP experience is preferred
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Must have the ability to communicate with internal/external customers.
Must have the ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies or members of the business community.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Utilize basic mathematical skills necessary to perform general business functions
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Individuals may need to sit or stand as needed. May require walking primarily on a level surface for periodic periods throughout the day. Reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist or lifting up to 55lbs as required. Proper lifting techniques required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to the operations areas where certain areas may require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields and mandatory hearing protection.
