Inside Sales Estimator

What You Will Be Doing:

As a Yancey Power System Inside Sales Estimator (ISE) you will be responsible for working with Outside & Inside Sales, Project Managers, Customers, and Vendors, to research, estimate, and prepare proposals for our Retail Electric Power (EP) Systems business.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Receive, interpret, and review inbound Requests for Quotes (RFQ) from Outside & Inside Sales, Customers, or Plan Rooms

• Maintain and Update Bid Calendar and create timely estimates to ensure on-time Project Proposals
• Establish and maintain relationships with Vendors and Subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing
• Secure quotes from Vendors in a timely manner
• Utilize Company Estimating software to create accurate and competitive estimates
• Maintain and Update existing Company Estimation database w/Vendor parts & descriptions
• Maintain and Update existing List of Suppliers, Vendors, and Subcontractors
• Create written detailed Proposals based on Customer & Project requirements

• Identify ways to continually improve estimating procedures to reduce inconsistencies between estimated and actual project costs.
• Daily collaboration with other Yancey Power EP Sales Reps & Inside EP Sales to develop and deliver solutions for customers

Additional Responsibilities:

• Participate in required safety programs, and work in a safe manner.
• Additional duties as assigned by manager.

Who We Are Looking For:

To be successful in this position you should be detail-oriented, be adept at reading and interpreting building plans, and demonstrate outstanding analytical and technical skills to ultimately develop competitive proposals. You should possess a strong sense of urgency and desire to provide superior customer service. The ability to take direction and work in a team environment is essential to this position as well.

Required Education/Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required

Required Qualifications/Skills:

• Mechanical/Electrical estimation experience
• Basic knowledge and understanding of the Industrial Generator industry is preferred
• Demonstrated success in prior work experience
• Must be able to read and interpret Engineered Drawings & Specifications
• Proficient computer skills to include MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS Word, Adobe, and ability to learn and become proficient in Company Estimation Software system
• Must be very detail oriented, organized, and able to work in fast-paced environment
• Excellent customer service, support, and follow-up skills
• Ability to be a contributing member of a high performance work team
• Must be self-motivated, take pride in your work, and have a strong work ethic
• Ability to use judgment and creativity in applying solutions to customer requirements.
• Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Open to learning and sharing new ideas
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills

Preferred Qualifications/Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Science, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field. Significant experience in the industry will also be acceptable
• Previous work history in Electric Power System business
