Job Description
    DutiesSummary

    This position is part of the Defense Threat Reduction Agency.


    Responsibilities

    As a INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST (DATAMGT) at the GS-2210-14/15 some of your typical work assignments may include:

    • Developing roadmaps, policies and procedures to ensure consistency in how data is sourced and used across DTRA.
    • Coordinate with stakeholders to develop, implement, maintain and propagate Chief Information Officer (CIO), Chief Data Officer (CDO), DTRA and government-wide data management policies, standards and guidelines
    • Leading the Data Architecture capability for the Agency in the modernization and standardization of the data systems throughout the organization.
    • Developing new theories on the optimal means in which data systems should be designed and implemented for DTRA.
    • Designing and implementing new data systems to replace/upgrade current information systems including designing, orchestrating, implementing, and maintaining databases and data warehouses.

    QualificationsIn addition to meeting qualifications, your application package must reflect the applicable experience to meet the Individual Occupational Requirements for the 2210 series. Experience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate.

    You may qualify at the GS- 14, if you fulfill the following qualifications:

    One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service:
    • Applying IT theories, principles, concepts, methods, standards, and practices sufficient to develop new data theories, concepts, and principles.
    • Developing and interpret policies, procedures, and strategies governing IT data management and architecture; providing expert technical advice, guidance, and recommendations to management and other technical experts on critical data architecture issues.
    • Applying new developments to previously unsolvable problems; and serve as a senior expert on data architecture to top management officials.
    • Advanced analytical, critical thinking, and problem solving skills to identify problems; determining accuracy and relevance of information.
    You may qualify at the GS-15 grade level, if you fulfill the following qualifications:

    One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service:
    • Applying IT theories, principles, concepts, methods, standards, and practices sufficient to develop new data theories, concepts, and principles.
    • Developing and interpret policies, procedures, and strategies governing IT data management and architecture; providing expert technical advice, guidance, and recommendations to management and other technical experts on critical data architecture issues.
    • Applying new developments to previously unsolvable problems; and serve as a senior expert on data architecture to top management officials.
    • Advanced analytical, critical thinking, and problem solving skills to identify problems; determining accuracy and relevance of information.
    • Expert knowledge in data, cloud, and enterprise architecture across the business, technology, data, application, and infrastructure domains.
    Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
