Position Summary

In this role, you will deliver, display, order, and sell company products to customers through assigned sales territories in accordance with company merchandising programs and standards. In addition, during your first 90 days you will receive hands-on training from leaders who care and are invested in your success. After this 90-day period, you will become your own boss, independently owning and managing your route.

Position Responsibilities/ Major Duties
  • Qualified to purchase a distribution franchise from company or a current Independent Distributor Partner, passing all portions of the territory
  • Learn the basis of owning and operating a baked foods distribution franchise
  • Possess the skills, qualifications, licenses, and certifications necessary to operate a commercial motor vehicle with a weight in excess of 10,000 pounds
  • Perform all required daily vehicle inspections, maintain accurate vehicle records, complete daily driver's logs and time records as required, and turn in all paperwork in each day per requirements, keep assigned vehicle clean and check/secure load to prevent product damage
  • Responsible for customer development regarding ordering, merchandising, and display opportunities and establishing a sound, professional relationship with key personnel in customer accounts
  • Minimize stale product levels within company established quotas
  • Review and analyze territory reports for identification of problems and sales opportunities
  • Ensuring out-of-code product is removed from the marketplace and that all product complies with the company's product freshness code system
  • Maintain a professional personal appearance, including uniform dress, hygiene and grooming
  • Learn and use the fundamentals of the territory sales and direct store delivery system including:
    • Display
    • Merchandising
    • Time Schedule/Callbacks
    • Space and Position
    • Customer Relations
    • Product Ordering
  • Maintain knowledge of competition, including pricing, products, space and position, people, displays, account stability
  • Exercise discretion and independent judgment in carrying out job duties
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures (EEO, Sexual Harassment, Sarbanes - Oxley, Safety, etc.)
  • Perform other duties which are deemed to be an integral part of the position, including but not limited to fulfillment of work schedules, adherence to attendance policies, and other applicable operating rules, policies and procedures

Essential Job Functions/ Requirements
  • License
    • Valid state driver's license and safe driving record
    • Must be able to acquire and maintain a DOT Medical Card
  • Mobility
    • Physically capable of movement to and within all sales and manufacturing facilities, other company related facilities, and community facilities and customer locations
    • Physically capable of operating and entering/exiting a commercial motor vehicle with a weight in excess of 10,000 pounds
    • Ability to frequently lift/ carry items weighing approximately 25 lbs. as well as the ability to push/pull up to 50 pounds regularly
    • Ability to utilize lifting, stooping and bending motion to dismantle stacks of bread trays and transfer product to customer shelves (height 8 ft.)
    • Average 50-60 hours per week depending on the territory.
    • Anything over 40 hours is overtime pay
  • Sensory
    • Ability to view product and determined adherence to quality control standards (size, shape, color, cut, etc.)
  • Communication
    • Ability to successfully provide a high level of customer service and solve customer issues as they arise
    • Excellent communication (written and oral) skills
    • Excellent organizational skills with a high attention to detail

Qualifications

Desired Experience
  • Two (2) or more years of experience in a franchise sales environment

Desired Education
  • High School Diploma of equivalent
