Reporting
This position will support the global operations team and be located in the United States reporting to the oUS Informatics Implementation Manager and dotted line Director, Global Operations. The Informatics Team works internationally to ensure smooth implementation & support of our products through all aspects of the sales process.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Act as customer’s primary contact for scheduling and executing proprietary software implementation, upgrade projects and 1st, 2nd & 3rd line support for Abbott Informatics solutions, including, but are not limited to, AegisPOC, Sympheos, RALS LiNK and Image. This will include project management, setting milestones and tracking progress until project completion.
- Responsible for the product administration and implementation of Sympheos & RALS LiNK including the standardization of processes and procedures globally.
- Pre-sales activity such as customer presentation, demo setting, congress & exhibition attendance.
- Sales activities on installed based including the ability to upgrade and upsell as appropriate.
- Post sales activities including performing necessary maintenance, upgrades, or replacement of any proprietary system.
- Assist and manage customers to set up and troubleshoot connectivity issues.
- Investigate user problems, identify their source, determine workable solutions and test and implement solutions.
- Perform maintenance programs following company and vendor standards.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding the information being processed, stored or accessed by the network.
- Maintenance and management of mobile to mobile (M2M), providers databases and projects including Alere SIM Manager and associated services as appropriate.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Up to 50% travel time is possible, so a passport is essential.
- A full and clean Driving Licence is desirable.
- Area / Geographies of responsibility may be predominately, but not limited to USA, EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa).
- Flexibility on working time is required, should the need arise, to support colleagues and customers in other regions, geographies and time zones, but this will be by exception.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
- Excellent communications skills including reading, writing, and arithmetic required.
- Fluent in English and another language (French or Spanish) could be a distinct advantage.
- Experience & working knowledge of connecting instrumentation to laboratory systems including HL7, POCT1A protocols.
- Experience & knowledge of results interfaces.
- Experience & knowledge on HL7 protocols.
- An understanding of SQL scripts would be a distinct advantage.
- Medical invitro-diagnostic (IVD) testing and technology experience would be a distinct advantage.
- Working knowledge of patient treatment pathways would be a distinct advantage.
- Knowledgeable in a variety of health organisations IT networks (e.g. the UK’s NHS), their info-structure and hierarchy, would be a distinct advantage.
- Demonstrate self-management/time management skills.
- Able to work remotely at home with great motivation and discipline.
- Ability to manage and track multiple projects.
- Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
- A knowledge of Salesforce would be distinct advantage.
- Ability to work with others in a professional manner while attempting to achieve a common goal.
- Ability to share technical knowledge and contribute to team and organisational goals.
Technical Knowledge
- Knowledge and experience with troubleshooting network connectivity using TCP/IP utilities and their functions. Such as Ping, Ipconfig, and Tracert.
- Experience with Microsoft products including Microsoft Windows 7 and 10 Enterprise, Windows 2008\2012 Server and Windows SQL 2008/2014 server is a must.
- Basic understanding of Virtual Systems.
- Working knowledge of Excel spreadsheets and basic Excel functions.
- Experience with VPN and remote access including various software VPN connections, RDP, TeamViewer and GoTo Assist.
- Familiarity with serial communication.
- Knowledge and experience with project management software (MS project, Gannt project).
- SOX compliance knowledge would be a distinct advantage.
- ITIL framework knowledge would be a distinct advantage.
- Document control management, maintenance and associated process experience would be a distinct advantage.
Qualifications, Education and Experience
- A degree in Computer Science or a related field or A+ certification or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- A Project Management qualification and experience (PMP, Prince2 or similar)
